Creacon Lodge was built in 1849, the year in which John F. Kennedy's Great Grandfather, Patrick Kennedy, sailed from New Ross to the United States, relinquishing his tenancy at Dunganstown and his 35 acre farm for which he paid a yearly rental of 22 pounds. Patrick and his family achieved great success with their new lives in the United States. The JFK |
Arboretum, a five minutes drive from Creacon Lodge, was created in JFK's memory in 1966. New Ross Town, "The Norman Gateway to the Barrow Valley," dates back to the 6th Century when it was established as one of Ireland's busiest ports. The town's first bridge was made of wood and was built in 1211. New Ross played a large part in crushing the 1798 Rebellion. At the Tholsel is the centre for exploring the fine river scenery of the Nore and Borrow Valleys by land or water. Our restaurant was built using 300 year old pitch-pine and all of our rooms have been individually decorated and energized. The windows in the Lodge were rescued from nun's convents over 100 years ago, and 300 year old windows from the Knights Templars grace our cafe. Our Meditation Hall features sacred antiquities from all over the world, representing every religion, as well as an expansive spiritual library for your enjoyment. From time to time, classes are offered and are included in your stay. Your meals will be lovingly prepared by a superior chef providing nourishment for your body and soul. Be sure to visit our cafe for a delicious coffee latte, rare Himalayan tea, or some tasty treats, and stroll through our lush gardens for a relaxing moment with Mother Nature. |
